Humor

My daughter’s Accelerated English class assignment was an in class activity where the students were to write about a fictional baseball game in a journalistic style appropriate for the sports page. My daughter’s classmates wrote furiously for the entire period while she read an unrelated-to-the-subject book.

The teacher, at some point, noticed the one student not participating in the class activity and called out “Two minutes!” just prior to the end of class whereupon my daughter pulled out a sheet of paper and a pen and calmly wrote for about 30 seconds of the remaining minute before the bell rang.

Her entire journalistic endeavor took less time to write than you’ll spend reading this and consisted of the following sentence only:
Baseball game cancelled due to rain.
